The Way to Heaven
By Jesus Alone—“Let not your heart be troubled,” He [Jesus] said; “ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” For your sake I came into the world. I am working in your behalf. When I go away, I shall still work earnestly for you. I came into the world to reveal Myself to you, that you might believe. I go to the Father to cooperate with Him in your behalf.{Hvn 9.1
There are not many ways to heaven. Each one may not choose his own way. Christ says, “I am the way: ... no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” Since the first gospel sermon was preached, when in Eden it was declared that the seed of the woman should bruise the serpent’s head, Christ had been uplifted as the way, the truth, and the life. He was the way when Adam lived, when Abel presented to God the blood of the slain lamb, representing the blood of the Redeemer. Christ was the way by which patriarchs and prophets were saved. He is the way by which alone we can have access to God.—The Desire of Ages, 663.{Hvn 10.2}
The True Path That Leads to Heaven—Many are losing the right way, in consequence of thinking that they must climb to heaven, that they must do something to merit the favor of God. They seek to make themselves better by their own unaided efforts. This they can never accomplish. Christ has made the way by dying our Sacrifice, by living our Example, by becoming our great High Priest. He declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” If by any effort of our own we could advance one step toward the ladder, the words of Christ would not be true. But when we accept Christ, good works will appear as fruitful evidence that we are in the way of life, that Christ is our way, and that we are treading the true path that leads to heaven.—The Review and Herald, November 4, 1890.{Hvn 12.2}

O Caminho Para o Céu
Somente através de Jesus - “Não se turbe o vosso coração”, disse [Jesus]; “credes em Deus, crede também em Mim. Na casa de Meu Pai há muitas moradas; se não fosse assim, Eu vo-lo teria dito; vou preparar-vos lugar. E, se Eu for, e vos preparar lugar, virei outra vez, e vos levarei para Mim mesmo, para que onde Eu estiver estejais vós também. Mesmo vós sabeis para onde vou, e conheceis o caminho.” João 14:1-4. Em outras palavras: Por amor de vocês vim ao mundo. Estou trabalhando em seu benefício. Quando Eu for, continuarei ainda a trabalhar fervorosamente por vocês. Vim ao mundo para Me revelar a vocês, para que pudessem crer. Vou para o Pai para cooperar com Ele em seu favor.{ViC 9.1}
Não há muitos caminhos para o Céu. Não pode cada um escolher o seu. Cristo diz: “Eu sou o caminho. ... Ninguém vem a Meu Pai, senão por Mim.” João 14:6. Desde que foi pregado o primeiro sermão evangélico, quando no Éden se declarou que a semente da mulher havia de esmagar a cabeça da serpente, Cristo fora exaltado como o caminho, a verdade e a vida. Ele era o caminho ao tempo em que Adão vivia, quando Abel apresentava a Deus o sangue do cordeiro morto, representando o sangue do Redentor. Cristo foi o caminho pelo qual se salvaram patriarcas e profetas. Ele é o único caminho pelo qual podemos ter acesso a Deus. — O Desejado de Todas as Nações, 663.{ViC 10.2
O verdadeiro caminho conduz ao céu - Muitos estão perdendo o caminho certo, por pensarem que têm de conquistar o Céu; que têm de fazer algo para merecer o favor de Deus. Procuram tornar-se melhores pelos próprios frágeis esforços. Isso jamais conseguirão realizar. Cristo abriu caminho morrendo como nosso sacrifício, vivendo como nosso exemplo, tornando-Se nosso grande sumo sacerdote. Diz Ele: “Eu sou o caminho, e a verdade e a vida.” João 14:6. Se por qualquer esforço nosso pudéssemos subir um único degrau na escada, as palavras de Cristo não seriam verdadeiras. Mas quando aceitamos a Cristo, as boas obras aparecerão, como frutífera prova de que nos achamos no caminho da vida, que Cristo é nosso caminho, e que estamos palmilhando a vereda certa, que conduz ao Céu. — Mensagens Escolhidas 1:368.{ViC 12.2}
